Randy Oostra is the president and CEO of ProMedica, a non-profit health system based in Toledo. Under his leadership, ProMedica was selected for the Forbes 2017 list of America's Best Employers. He has also been recognized individually: Oostra received Becker’s Healthcare Leadership Award and was one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 most influential people in healthcare for 2017.
Oostra holds a Doctorate in Management from Case Western Reserve University; a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota; a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Wisconsin; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa.
Prior to joining ProMedica, Oostra held leadership roles at several other institutions, including Saint Anthony’s Health System, Alton, Illinois; Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, Grand Rapids; Health One Corporation, Minneapolis; and LCM, Sioux Falls.
Oostra demonstrates a commitment to the healthcare industry and his community through extensive involvement in numerous professional and civic organizations. For example, he is a board member of the American Hospital Association; a board member of the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET); a member of the Ohio and Michigan Hospital Associations; and a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
